Specific Job Duties: The European Energy Analyst will support analysis and research activities for energy forecasts, retainer products, consulting projects, and client presentations.

Duties include:
Maintaining and creating models and databases to help ensure timely delivery of content and accurate responses to client questions.

The analyst will support the European power and natural gas modelling process to enable a stable flow of insightful research papers on energy related topics.

Activities will include the following:
 Support senior researchers activities by producing deadline-driven, quick-turnaround analysis and research for site visits, consulting projects, and client presentations.
 Creating advanced mathematical models and databases by gathering appropriate data sources, examining causal relationships, hypothesizing and testing key drivers to produce detailed forecasts. This work will support research and insight generation across the European gas and power team by producing detailed fundamentals forecasts.
 Contributing to consulting projects as required and as driven by business needs by working under the direction of a consulting project leader. This work will require gathering of data, creating spreadsheets and graphics, and seeking out peer review of material to support delivery of high-quality client-specific projects.
 Responding to research-related questions from clients by working with other team members in a highly collaborative fashion.

Required Education:
Degree required in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Sciences, Economics or Engineering.
Required Experience:

 Experience in the power, gas or renewable industry.

 Experience of advanced numerical modelling or programming languages will be an advantage.

Other Requirements:
 Must be fluent in English; fluency in writing, reading and communicating in one or more European languages highly desirable.
 Proficiency with MS applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) with strong analytical skills and ability to develop and run Excel models; experience with databases helpful.
 Requires a keen attention to detail and highly effective organization and prioritization skills including the ability to stay on task and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
 Must be flexible with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others in multiple locations and subject areas.
 Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and have solid problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills for activities of moderate complexity.
 Requires demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills at all levels of business in a deadline-oriented environment.
 This position may be required to travel on a limited basis 5 to 10%; for events, forums and client visits and other business related needs.

Physical Requirements:
 This position will operate under normal office conditions and will include moderate phone use and moderate to heavy computer use. Under close to moderate supervision, the European Energy Analyst functions as a core member of the team to provide quantitative research support and assist senior staff in creating reports, contribute to consulting projects and support events.
