Role Summary:The Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities:· Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements · Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers · Document and communicate results of technical data generated · Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives · Share engineering information and promote open dialogue · Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business· Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures• Review and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.• Experience in using design tools like parametric modelling software (Creo), CAD, Mathcad, etc., and in-house design calculations• Experience with Team Centre is desirable• Generate appropriate documentation related to mechanical design practices related to Subsea Control Units (layouts, specifications, design analysis and calculations, stack-ups, design conformity, and BoMs) • With the support of senior engineers, generate appropriate documentation related to Subsea Control projects (Procurement specifications, FATs, IOMs, Load Test, Qualification Tests, etc.) • Support on resolving Product non-conformities activities.• Interface with Senior Engineers, PEM or PM, Testing, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, and suppliers• Coordinate and control the activities performed by external resources related to the assigned jobFocus on Services related activities to produce cost-effective and reliable designs will play an important role in the work scope. In this role, the Mechanical Engineer will interface regularly with Senior Project Engineers and adjacent functions to synergize total business efforts, and with Engineering and Product Line management to assure milestones are achieved.He/she will develop and analyse engineering designs, specifications, technical data, and drawings using sound engineering principles. He/she will be responsible for determining design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of parts, design life, and safety margins
Qualifications/Requirements:· Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position)The candidate would be expected to engage in all Mechanical aspects of Subsea Controls Engineering and have proven design experience of high reliability, low volume and custom design equipment.Specific Subsea and or Offshore design experience would be desirable.Hydraulics exposure to Hydraulic Power Units, Directional Control Valves, Pressure and temperature Sensors and Instrumentation.
