Role Summary:As a Lead Supporting Services (SSA) Field Engineer for GE Measurement & Control, you will be tasked with managing and executing customer service contracts. You will evaluate customer service needs based on customer critical assets, asset protection system, and asset monitoring systems. You will provide input to developing a comprehensive supporting service maintenance & reliability plan to enhance and support customers maintenance & reliability programs.
Essential Responsibilities:You will build customer relationship; manage contractual obligations; be responsible for financial commitments to the business as well as service commitments to the customers.In the role of Field Engineer – SSA Site Lead, you will:

  • Assess job site Safety and perform services as per BHGE environmental, health, and safety policies
  • Perform Asset Management / Reliability Service Studies
  • Understand contractual commitments and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Manage contracts in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, and other process industries.
  • Diagnose basic machinery problems based upon: vibration data, operational data, and customer communications
  • Perform commissioning, and trouble-shooting of Bently Nevada Hardware and Software Products and Solutions at GE and customer locations.
  • Know Bently Nevada Machinery Diagnostic, System 1®, BN Protection system capabilities and uses.
  • Timely completion of standard service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements
  • React to customer requests in a timely manner
  • Complete Documentation of findings / recommendations
  • Professionally communicate with customer and other team members
  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality
  • Support the growth initiatives of the business
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in implementing and management of condition monitoring solution offeringsEligibility Requirements
  • Travel up to 80% of the time, as required
  • Work overtime, as required
  • Valid US Passport and Driving License
  • Obtain TWIC Card
  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 yrs of experience in implementing and management of condition monitoring solution offerings, such as Bently Nevada or equivalent suppliers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English language
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently; ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines
  • Bently Nevada MDS Skill – Trained
  • Bently Nevada S&I Skill – Trained
  • Ability to work under stressful working conditions
  • Project Management Skills
  • Strong computer skills; both Hardware and Software, plus MS Office software skills
  • Mechanical & Electrical trouble shooting skills. “Hands-on approach”
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand mechanical prints
  • Knowledge of Reciprocating Compressors
  • Experience with Networking devices and protocols
  • Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and controls systems
  • Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems
  • Knowledge or experience with AT LEAST one or more of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotordynamic analysis, machinery balancing and alignment.
  • Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and services
  • Black Belt or Green Belt Certified (GE employees only)
