Role Summary:The Designer operates within the Team responsible for the Cross Section and Assembly of BHGE Gas Turbines product’s and collaborates with other engineering functional teams and supply chain to deliver engine design. The role provides a direct exposure to the most advanced technologies used in the industry as well as a strong involvement in cross functional and highly qualified international teams.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Executes the machine mechanical architecture to meet performance, operability, manufacturability, cost and maintenance requirements with the guidance of senior engineering resources.
  • Creates definition of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections
  • Produces 2D drawings, 3D reusable models in a linked model environment and tolerance stack-ups, to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, quality and inspection within expected cost, quality and schedule.
  • Works closely with supply chain partners to determine dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing producibility and minimizing cost
  • Ensures all interfaces between components are established and agreed upon by Engineering design teams of mating parts and engine systems
  • Effectively utilizes outsourced resources to produce Drafting and Bill of material following the Company internal rules, preparing and sending work packages containing tagged hardware, definition of work scope, proper funding and due dates while monitoring progress and quality levels
  • Continuously challenges self and program team. Stays current with industry developments in one’s field of expertise
  • Assures documentation issue of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures


  • Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering Master Degree and proven years experience in mechanical design of machinery systems.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts and drafting standards.
  • Ability to perform preliminary design by hand calculations and to interpret Ansys thermal, stress and modal analyses.
  • Good knowledge of CAD tools.
  • Turbo-Machinery mechanical design (machine architecture and configuration, rotating and stationary parts design criteria).
  • Knowledge of typical manufacturing methods for industrial machinery and ability to evaluate design-manufacturing cross interactions.
  • Good written and verbal English language communication skills
  • EU work permit
