Role Summary:This position requires an individual that possesses a solid understanding of electrical, mechanical and control software design processes for plants equipped with rotating machinery as well as exhibits strong project management and communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities:In the role of Lead Engineer / Technologist – Project Engineer, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership for assigned projects under the overall financial responsibility of the project manager. Accountable for on-time schedule performance, project milestones, customer deliverables, and compliance with regulations and standards
  • Act as a liaison between various engineering team members and be the point of escalation for project technical issues
  • Supervise the engineering team members to fulfill the project contractual scope and requirements
  • Review contract documentation and customer specifications, have experience creating equipment specifications and detailed design documentation for the development of appropriate control solutions
  • Apply knowledge of industry practices and international standards to produce high-quality and cost-effective designs
  • Support customer meetings, act as technology face to the customer for projects
  • Support engineering and field service teams on project documentation, installation & commissioning
  • Frequently interact with customers, various other GE teams, contractors and suppliers
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years experience in engineering processes and/or systems
  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving ability and adept at communicating with several levels of the organization
  • Solid mentoring skills and willingness to train less experienced team members
  • Control system programming and system design
  • Strong influence, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix management environment
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards
  • Self-starter mindset and constant engagement in developing new skills
  • Track record of handling steep learning curves, and exhibiting can-do attitude
  • Must work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Proven history of long cycle projects
  • Well-developed computer application skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
  • Green Belt certified (GE employees only)
  • Strong familiarity with GE engineering processes
  • Knowledge of various control products (Woodward, Allen-Bradley, Siemens etc.)
  • Background in industrial communication protocols
  • Visualization system skills
  • Experience in process instrumentation
  • Understanding of combined cycle plant operation
  • Master Black Belt / Black Belt certified (GE employees only)
