Role Summary:This role is a technical project leadership position as a Lead QA Engineer.You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing and resolving the most critical technical quality and reliability issues within Huerth site and collaborate with Nové Mesto and Shannon site.This is an everyday challenge within a global environment with customers, and cross-functional GE teams.The Huerth Product Quality Engineer will report directly to the UT-TM Quality Leader.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize the need for and execute root cause analysis on technical issues that drive significant warranty cost and / or customer downtime
  • Develop and communicate a data driven approach to identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating the top warranty and customer outage drivers.
  • Lead the development of appropriate engineered solutions to identified root causes, driving the best balance between speed of delivery and total cost of execution.
  • Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during manufacturing processes.
  • For each solution, deliver a full & validated “solution set” (including parts, work instructions, tools, etc.) to the Top Issues team, for deployment / implementation to the field.
  • Work in close partnership with the Service, Manufacturing, and Top Issues teams to ensure the feasibility of your solutions.
  • Work in close cooperation with 2nd Level Support Engineers to establish early warning indicators to identify failure trends earlier and initiate corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers, Remote Service and Field Service teams.
  • Work in close cooperation with the Remote Service, Service and Warranty teams to proactively identify barriers to product performance and reliability, with the goal of increasing product performance based on review and action of statistical / issue data.
  • Provide second tier support to the Remote Service and Field Service teams as necessary during the release / launch of retrofits and upgrades, ensuring the successful deployment of your solutions, and minimal customer downtime.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for all assigned projects / tasks consistent with engineering & quality policies / procedures.
  • Provide technical communication and updates to our external customers, as required.
  • Provide engineering support, within one’s specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives.
  • Support the team with non-technical quality tasks, e.g. audits and QMS.


  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering, technical service or quality Position
  • Previous Ultrasound product engineering experience and/or product/service experience
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Experience clearly communicating issues and resolution to both a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Experience working efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Experience seeing the big picture and drilling down several layers into the details.
  • Above average computer skills with MS Office, such as Excel or PowerPoint.
  • Successful experience working with others across time zones and within multi-culture teams.
