Role Summary:The NAM Product Service Engineering Manager provides leadership for the Regional Product Service engineering team being responsible for the local O&G fleet installed in the Regions. He/She drives the resolution of technical issues, builds technical metrics for the Fleet, interface with the R&MD Centers and Technical COE’s, drives the site assessments and represents the technical point of contact for the O&G Customers.
Essential Responsibilities:In this role you will create and develop local expertise and leadership to drive local technical ownership and build customer trust.In the role of NAM Product Service Engineering Manager you will:

  • Lead the product service and the installation and commissioning engineering support team in the region
  • Lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business
  • Be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications; this role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas area of expertise
  • Provide consultation and technical direction to the engineering community on near term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact
  • Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
  • Support other GE businesses, supplier, and internal/external customers
  • Be a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty in order to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities
  • Provide engineering support, within one’s specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives
  • Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes
  • Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
  • Function as program manager when appropriate
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
  • Develop and implement training modules as necessary
  • Be responsible for the product service engineering team metrics and operating reviews preparation
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical or operations leadership position
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in turbomachinery design and/or field, or fleet support team leader
  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Masters of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of Turbo Machinery rotordynamics, thermodynamics and related troubleshooting
  • Field experience on Turbo machinery troubleshooting (gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and turboexpander)
  • Design and shop/Field experience of Turbo Machinery flange to flange and auxiliary systems
  • Knowledge and field experience of Turbo Machinery control systems
  • Knowledge of Reliability Engineering theory and practical applications
  • Knowledge of oil and Gas industry processes knowledge and understanding of process impacts on turbomachinery operations.
  • Demonstrated experience on complex Root Cause Analysis (RCA) applied to Turbo Machinery and its auxiliaries
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams, lead in challenging environment and deliver on commitments.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
