Aker Solutions, based in Aberdeen, through its Asset Integrity Management (AIM) service line, delivers a complete range of integrity engineering, inspection and related services for all stages of an asset’s life cycle. The Pressure Systems Integrity Management (PSIM) department within AIM is seeking to strengthen the team through the recruitment of an experienced pressure systems integrity engineer. The ideal candidate will analytical experience in developing and assessing computer simulation models to deliver integrity assessments for pressurised systems to demonstrate code compliance and also have a good appreciation of inspection planning and NDE techniques, with particular focus on the application of risk based inspection techniques.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

•Execute duties in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures.

•Ensure that work is completed on Schedule and within budget

•Demonstrate knowledge of the design principles for piping systems, vessels, heat exchangers and their possible failure mechanisms

•Demonstrate knowledge of stress analysis, fatigue and fracture assessments

•Develop and assess computer models for piping stress analysis using Caesar2

•Develop computer integrity assessment models using in-house Integri-Tech simulation fitness for service assessment software

•Conduct fitness for service assessments to API579/ASME FFS1 & BS7910 code requirements, various assessment levels

•Ability to perform inspection planning according to procedures and instructions

•Application of risk based inspection (RBI) procedures and techniques

Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

•Educated to Degree level in engineering discipline and 3-5 years minimum relevant experience

•Conversant with computer analysis and assessment software

•Familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures and NDE techniques

•Good working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards

•Aware of latest technical developments
