Role Summary:Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Comprehensive in-depth understanding of complex and highly technical concepts and principles in the own part of the function. Strong knowledge of technical concepts in technologies that intersect with own technical space.
Essential Responsibilities:• Provide support and hands-on ownership of global projects at assigned site to insure correct materials processes are in place • Provide leadership and expertise for Materials Management to support the projects and lead selected projects. • Must be able to implement improvement programs and maximize performance in meeting business objectives. • Demonstrated experience in forecasting, working with product management/sales and status monthly and quarterly inventory levels to achieve goals. • Proactively drive continuous improvement. • Materials programs utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and practices. • Must be detailed and proficient in data analysis. • Responsible for the overall inventory management process emphasizing reduced inventory levels and increased inventory turns. • Determine strategic inventory plans that achieve business inventory commitments, while balancing customer lead time/business OTD requirements. • Work closely with Supply Chain team to identify and address Materials issues related to process improvement and accuracy. • Responsible for inventory portion of working capital reviews, generate and status on-going inventory project deck to drive inventory reductions. • Successfully manage multiple priorities without direct supervision. • Ability to manage and influence organizational culture, personnel and Supply Chain programs virtually using electronic media. • Ensure all GE required tools, programs and management systems are properly implemented and that Supply Chain/Materials documentation required to support programs and management systems are comprehensive and up to date. • Complete required reports timely and with 100% accuracy. • Participate in GE Supply Chain/Materials conference calls, meetings, teams and task forces in order to proactively share best practices across GE. • The successful candidate must be a self-starter; the position has a high level of accountability. • Positive influencing skills in a team environment with the ability to mobilize and energize teams
Qualifications/Requirements:– College or above degree- Minimum of 5 years working experience in a Sourcing or Procurement role- Fluency in English – Good organizational and communication skills, leadership capabilities, project management skills, competent business acumen. Ability to handle problems involving several variables. – Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.- Active, professional. Overcome all the difficulties and working pressures.
Desired Characteristics:– Six Sigma experience (for GE employee)- ERP/MRP previous experience- Oracle / SAP implementation experience
