Role Summary:The Senior Product Engineer requires interaction with design, testing, manufacturing, service, current product teams and other cross functional teams in order to ensure the product goals are set forth by the business are achieved in a fast paced environment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities:In the role of Senior Project Engineer, you will:

  • Execute the design, testing, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirement
  • Provide technical leadership and ownership of assigned projects
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and standards
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects is consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communication on significant issues or developments
  • Perform system level troubleshooting on complex issues
  • Be responsible for quality deliverables, improvement progress and evaluates results
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering or Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience
  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with engine design and performance
  • Experience with engine R&D laboratory testing and instrumentation experience
  • Capabilities to multitask several projects
  • Improve the product quality and secure the product reliability
  • Strong project management skills and business acumen
  • Analysis led design approach with a minimum of 2 years of design experience
  • Experience in Tolerance stack-up, GD &T, NX, and FEA
  • Strong mechanical design, hands-on and analytical background
  • Interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Systems integration experience
  • Strong design experience in metal castings, forging / extrusions
  • Understanding of materials and structural components
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of systems applications
  • Good leadership / management skills
  • Support failure analysis
  • High level of personal energy, credibility and presence
