The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge.
•A sound academic knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering
•Working knowledge of geotechnical design software, design codes and Highways England standards
•Specific experience in highway geotechnics including retaining structures and earthworks
•Good relevant post-graduate experience in design offices and on major highway construction sites
•Awareness of civil engineering contracts and processes (NEC, ICE etc)
•Strong communication skills with fluency in verbal and written English
•Computer literate in MS Office package (or similar)
•Problem solving & analytical skills
•Team player but with an ability to work independently when required
•Planning & organisational skills
•Motivated to deliver high quality
•Commitment to professional and personal development
The minimum academic and professional qualifications are:
•First degree in civil engineering from a recognised European university
•MSc in soil mechanics / geotechnical engineering / engineering geology / foundation engineering
•CEng, MICE or equivalent
This role is only open to applicants able to accept local employment contract conditions and not expatriate employment terms. Please note that this role is only considering applications with valid working rights for the UK. CH2M will not sponsor an employment visa to fill this position.
