Role Summary:Druck Limited has an exciting opportunity for an Investigations Engineering Intern to join the Returns Sensors Team. This team is responsible for all aspects of sensor investigations to determine root cause of failure. You will be working as part of a fast paced multi-disciplinary team of Technicians and Engineers across electrical and mechanical disciplines. The team supports customers with investigations to tight deadlines particularly within the Aerospace sector
Essential Responsibilities:• Work closely with Technicians and Engineers to determine root cause pressure sensor failures. These will run across Electrical and Mechanical disciplines• Testing and diagnosing electronic faults• Be confident in the use of tools for dissecting metalwork and opening up sensors in a systematic and controlled way to preserve evidence• Provide written reports of findings to a standard reporting process including technical explanation. Agree these with Engineering Leaders before discussing with end users• Review customer application and test procedures ensuring that they are not inducing failures through their own processes and test set ups• Excellent written and verbal communication• Ability to work with remote engineering and sales teams globally• Supporting external customers, internal sales and marketing functions as required with investigations• Work cross functionally to drive improvement actions within Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Technology• Opportunity to converse with customers where discussions on findings and further operational details may be required• Familiarization with fault analysis tools such as 5Y, 8D etc.
Qualifications/Requirements:• Working towards a degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering• Good interpersonal and time management skills • Experience in use of test equipment to analyse circuitry and mechanical conditions• Ideally some knowledge of pressure sensors and their harsh working environments• An understanding of the influence of temperature and vibration on electronic assemblies • Working knowledge of Microsoft Software packages (Word, Excel, Power point etc)• Proven ability to work to deadlines and respond effectively to demanding customer requests• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with customers and team members• Eligibility to work view ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) restricted dataApplications from job seekers who require sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
