Role Summary:The candidate will be part of Engineering Technical Tool team. Our mission is managing legacy and commercial software for the design of turbo-machines and the necessary infrastructure like HPC and storage systems.Working in a global team environment, the candidate is expected to perform system administration activities for these special infrastructures, like operating system, middle-ware and to manage the legacy procedures specifically tailored for the design tools and to lead the evolution
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the HPC architecture including specialized storage system
  • Guarantee the availability of the system by implementing or updating the monitoring systems
  • Contribute to lead the infrastructure evolution to guarantee the refresh and the right performance
  • Actively interact with end users to listen and quickly solve the problems that may occur
  • Guarantee the respect and the implementation of cyber security standards (e.g. ISO27002)
  • Guarantee the respect of Quality procedure and lead process improvements
  • Work with GE partners for the infrastructure design and upgrade, as well as the operational activities
  • Establish strong connection with other sw/hw BHGE and GE infrastructure team (Server Management team, Java Team, Oracle team, network team, etc)
  • Provides technical leadership to internal people or Vendors during analysis, development, roll-out phases for the assigned project
  • Documents technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provides timely communications on significant issues or developments


  • Master in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics or similarFluency in English
  • Proven HPC infrastructure, configuration and monitoring matured experience
  • Super computer – HW architecture experience
  • Scripting language
  • Excellent knowledge of following systems:
    • Linux based operating systems
    • NAS and SAN storage management
  • Good knowledge of Windows operating systemGood knowledge about cyber security matter (ISO 27002)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong analytical skills coupled with execution mindset and passion for applied software
  • Experience in sw and hw architecture project management
  • Knowledge in development of Service Oriented application
  • Knowledge of Cloud Oriented platforms
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – both English and Italian preferred
  • Proven years of experience in similar position
